PDF/UA-1 rule 7.18.5-2: A link annotation does not include an alternate description in the Contents key
Not fixed automaticallystructure, annotation, alt-text
What veraPDF reports
A link annotation does not include an alternate description in the Contents key
veraPDF rule 7.18.5-2 = ISO 14289-1:2014 clause 7.18.5, test 2, checked on PDF object PDLinkAnnot.
What the requirement says
Links shall contain an alternate description via their Contents key as described in ISO 32000-1:2008, 14.9.3
Can it be fixed automatically?
Not fixed automatically. This failure needs the authoring tool or manual remediation; the automatic fix does not change it.
How to fix it by hand
Alternative text is human work: describe each image, formula or link in the authoring application (alt text field) or set it in the PDF editor's tag properties. No automatic tool can write a meaningful description for you.
