PDF/UA-1 rule 6.2-1: MarkInfo dictionary is not present in the document catalog, or Marked entry is set to false or is not present in the MarkInfo dictionary
Fixed in some casessyntax
What veraPDF reports
MarkInfo dictionary is not present in the document catalog, or Marked entry is set to false or is not present in the MarkInfo dictionary (MarkInfo = %1, Marked = %2)
veraPDF rule 6.2-1 = ISO 14289-1:2014 clause 6.2, test 1, checked on PDF object CosDocument.
In Adobe Acrobat’s Accessibility Checker the closest item is “Tagged PDF”.
What the requirement says
The document catalog dictionary shall include a MarkInfo dictionary containing an entry, Marked, whose value shall be true
Can it be fixed automatically?
Fixed in some cases. Fixed only when the file already has tags (a structure tree). An untagged file cannot honestly be marked as tagged, so for untagged files this rule remains.
How to fix it by hand
The MarkInfo flag declares that the file is tagged. Export as tagged PDF from the authoring application; only a file that really has tags may carry the flag.
